Hello, my name is Mary Darragh and I have owned, shown and bred Rough Collies for close on 33 years. Due to family commitments I am not always able to show my dogs as often as I would like but over the years they have won well and picked up many BOB's and some stud numbers.
When I lost one of my oldies last year who belonged to my Mum and was my last link with her, I lost heart for a while. However, the pride of my life, thanks to Philip and Fern Sargeant, Shay my blue merle dog, Coarhabeg Silver Cyclone, kept me going.
He is what I like a collie to be. He is a good sized dog, 23 and a quarter inches and he is a beautiful blue and an excellent mover, as always comes from the Coarhabeg Kennels. He is a real extrovert with a sense of humour that you wouldn't believe.
Now I have more time to show, Shay has really done me proud with his many wins and he never lets me down in the Show Ring. He has sired 3 litters, one of which I bred keeping a blue and tri bitch, largely unshown because I was concentrating on Shay. However his second litter was out of Mickey Fentons's Daythorn Bobbie Girl at Shannmie, two of which are being shown - Shannmie Miss Fantasia who has been placed at every show she has attended and she won BBIS at the All Ireland Collie Breed Show and Shannmie Blue Sirocco (Shadow) who stayed with Mickey and who's main wins to date are:
- Rough Collie Club of Ireland Ch.Sh. BPIS
- Irish Collie Club Open Sh. BPDIS
- Rough Collie Club of Ireland Open Sh. BOB & Group 4
- Irish Collie Club Open Sh. RBD & BPIS
- vRough Collie Club of Ireland Ch. Sh. BPIS & Res. Green Star
- Fermoy Ch.Sh. Dog Green Star
- Sth. Tipperary Ch.Sh. Dog Green Star & BOB
- Munster Canine Ch.Sh. Dog Green Star & BOB
- Drogheda Ch.Sh. Dog Green Star
- Clochran Ch.Sh. Dog Green Star

The 3rd litter was out of Margaret McArdle's bitch Slievemac Title Page and two of these are also in the show ring - Slievemac Title Miss Molly has never been unplaced and won RBBIS at the Irish Collie Club Breed Show at 8 months old and her brother, Slievemac First Draft has always finished second to his half brother Shadow.
So Shay is passing on his own quality to his offspring. They, like him, all excel in confirmation and movement.
